What is FMGE?
Foreign Medical Graduate Examination is a mandatory licensure exam for every student who holds a foreign medical degree and aspiring to become an Indian doctor. National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the Screening Test as per Screening Test Regulations 2002.
FMGE is conducted twice in June and December every year.
FMGE Eligibility Criteria
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has a set of guidelines for the candidates appearing the exam:
➤ Foreign medical graduates must be a citizen of India or should be Overseas Citizens of India.
➤ The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as a medical practitioner in the country.
➤ Candidates from Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Australia are not required to take the FMGE exam.

Syllabus
FMGE syllabus is issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) along with the approval of the Government of India. It contains 21 subjects. FMGE syllabus covers Pre-Clinical, Clinical, and Para-Clinical subjects.
