competition for NEET. While the pre-medical examination has gained popularity
in the country, there are confusions and misconceptions that have surfaced
along with it. However, aspirants can accomplish NEET with flying colors on the
first attempt provided they’re garbed with the correct planning techniques and
information about it.

Rumors
have swirled around the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), with
students getting a little confused about which ones are true and which ones are
false. In this article, Kings International Medical Academy (KIMA) will dispel common
myths that hold sway among NEET aspirants.
Myth # 1 The key to cracking NEET is to have
multiple resources!
One of the common myths that a lot of students
believe in is that they should be studying from a variety of sources. They have
the notion that the more materials they study, the better they will perform in
the NEET. However, this is not true. The reason behind this misconception is
that students often rush to look for other materials after finishing off their
previous batch of notes. This results in two major problems. Firstly, with so
many sources, it can be difficult for the students to focus on one particular
concept at a time. Secondly, this will lead to a lot of confusion during the
revision process. So to ace NEET, it’s not wise to have too many study materials.
Myth #2 Long hours of study will help them ace
NEET
Several students get bogged down by the idea
that they need to study for 10 hours a day to score well in NEET. As a result,
they end up studying just for compliance sake. In reality, there is no hard and
fast rule about how much time should be spent on preparing for NEET. However,
it is important to understand that they are not going to get anywhere with investing
just two hours of preparation. They must spend at least four to five hours
daily to be able to achieve a decent score in NEET.
Myth # 3 Expensive books are the best
Another common myth about the NEET preparation
is that expensive books are the best resources. The truth of the matter is, it’s
not--at all! Several pricy books have lower quality of content compared to the more
affordable books that are available in the market. Don’t fall into this trap.
Make sure to read reviews online before selecting your resources and then when
you’ve picked your choices, purchase those that would best suit your needs
Myth # 4 Solving the previous year's questions
will help them ace the NEET
Many aspirants feel that solving too many test
papers will make give them the advantage in making it to the NEET exam. Over
the years of NEET’s existence, students have started to develop a habit of
solving all the previous year's questions. While there’s truth and proofs to
this strategy (one acquires a foreknowledge of the exam which the examinee can
utilize during the actual test), it’s doesn’t guarantee the examinee of an
absolute overview. Patterns and questions vary per NEET. In a nutshell, using
the questions which came out the previous year isn’t much of a reliable study
resource or material. Not to mention, cramming up your brain isn’t healthy. Just
study smartly and solve the important questions.
Myth # 5 By passing the board exams, they can also
pass the NEET
For any NEET aspirants, it is very important
to have a 360-degree idea of the exam pattern and the syllabus. It is very easy
to fall into the trap of fallacies while preparing for an exam of such esteemed
reputation such as NEET. Some students feel that passing the board exams will
automatically help them pass the NEET. But that’s not true because both of the
exams are different in many ways, and so are their patterns and syllabus.
It can be difficult, to commit to a career
calling that requires extensive training and a lifetime of learning, but it is
also a deeply rewarding and fulfilling experience. Thus, doctors are expected
to devote their entire time and energy to their patients so, medical students
are expected to observe the same ethical standards.
All the best NEET
aspirants!
